Happy 1st Birthday!

I can't believe our baby girl is 1!  It has been such a whirlwind year that I can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that Hiccup is turning one.  She has changed so much this last year and has brought so much happiness and laughter into our lives.  She is one of the happiest babies I've known, and we get asked all the time if she's always so happy.  She loves to play with her big brother and sister.  She's obsessed with her stuffed giraffe.  Her eyes are such a gorgeous blue that I get stopped by complete strangers that just want to tell me how pretty her eyes are.  She's always on the go whether it's walking or attempting to run.  She loves to climb stairs.  She is not a fan of baby food; she wants what you are eating.  She demands, not asks, for whatever she wants from Mr. R and Boo.  They give her what she wants.  Her first word was "daddy" which was quickly followed by "kitty cat" and "mama".  She's our baby girl and she definitely completes our family.

We can't wait to see how much Hiccup changes in her second year.  I'm sure there will never be a dull moment!

Sun, Sand and a Giraffe?

Hubby's parents came to visit over Memorial weekend and we took them down to the boardwalk to see the beach.  The kids of course wanted to play on the beach playground.  While they flipped to their hearts' content on the monkey bars, Hiccup enjoyed the feel of sand on her bare toes for the first time.

Unlike her older siblings when they were her age, she LOVED the sand!  She going to be our beach baby.  Of course, what good is a trip to the beach without your giraffe?  Hiccup insisted on introducing her giraffe to the sand as well.  A couple of good handfuls of sand dumped on its back and self-congratulation clapping for a job well done made for one happy baby.

End of the Season

T-ball season is officially over for our little Cub.  He had a great season and was even hitting balls pitched to him by his coach.  He had several great throws and even managed to catch several ball thrown to him (not an easy thing considering the fact that 5 year olds are the ones throwing).  Unfortunately Hubby had to go to San Diego for work and missed the last game of the season and the party.  Mr. R was thrilled with his trophy. Boo decided that she wants to play next year, and Hiccup had fun playing with all the kids.  A successful baseball season overall, but I'm not sure if he'll be up for it again next year.  We'll have to wait and see...

Strawberry Picking

Boo's whole preschool went to a local farm for their field trip this year.  The highlight of the trip was getting to pick strawberries.  In addition to the field trip it was also crazy hat day.

Boo was excited to pick strawberries until the second one she went to pick squished in her hand.  It had been raining all week so some of the strawberries were starting to go soft.  She quickly changed her mind about wanting to pick them.  Instead she delegated the task to me.  It's not easy picking strawberries with a baby strapped to your chest and trying to keep up with a 3 year old.  I picked and she put them in the carton (which I had to hold).  Boo couldn't wait to get home and eat them!

Crazy Hair Day

It's crazy hair day at Boo's school and we were determined to do something pretty crazy.  I found this great blog (thanks to Pinterest) called Cute Girls Hairstyles and found the perfect hairstyle to attempt to create.  It was called The Bun Hawk and it was super cute by itself.  However, we felt like it was lacking just a little bit in the crazy department so we added some pipe cleaners.  Crazy hair day was a success!  Can't wait until next year...
