Promotion Ceremony

Earlier in the year Hubby was selected to be promoted in rank.  After several months it was finally his turn to pin on his new rank. We went onboard his ship for the ceremony and watched as his Commanding Officer walked him through his oath.

Hubby had asked earlier in the week if I'd like to pin his new rank on.  I pinned on his first two ranks and I plan on being the one who pins on his last (fingers crossed he keeps getting promoted!)  I thought the kids were old enough and would enjoy helping out, so I suggested letting Mr. R and Boo do it.

We cheated a little bit and sewed his new rank onto his flight suit ahead of time.  Then we took double sided tape and taped his old rank on top of it.  The kids would merely have to pull the old rank off.  Super easy and full-proof!

The kids loved helping promote their Daddy.  I guess Hiccup gets to do the next one to keep things fair.
