Dinner anyone?

So recently we decided to go to dinner with Shannon and her hubby before they leave Japan. Hubby and I decided that we needed to go somewhere good (i.e. somewhere far away that we've never been to and have no idea how to get there). We settled on this brewery/restaurant in a town next to us. Armed with the FFSC's directions we set off in Shannon's little car.

Anyone who has ever tried to use directions from FFSC knows that we got lost. Lost may not be a completely accurate word, confused might be better. The directions took us 90% of the way there. It was that last 10% that had us pulling our hair out. We were supposed to have made a left turn when we got to the Fuji store but yet there was no road to turn on, just some deadend alley way. So we continued driving until it was obvious to everyone that we were going in the wrong direction. Shannon pulls into a driveway of a very nice looking building to turn around. Three Japanese people were outside changing a light bulb (Haha, how many Japanese does it take....) and saw us turn in. Well Japanese people can be very helpful and one lady started coming over to the car. Instead of rolling down the window to talk to them, Shannon's hubby is yelling at her to keep driving and ignore them. The lady is in her 50's, dressed in a uniform and like 2 feet from the car, I doubt she's much of a risk. Finally a little flustered Shannon uses her common sense and ignores her crazy hubby and the kind Japanese woman draws us a map. Well we manage to follow the map 90% of the way but again get "confused." So this time we stop at a Family Mart (similar to a 7-11) and Hubby asks directions. Apparently we were only 300m away from the restaurant. Sounds promising right? It took us close to 30 minutes to finally find the place. I think we drove in circles half of that time. We made it there, finally, and had an interesting time.

I think Hubby wasn't exactly impressed by the portion sizes though. I have to say that
my food was good, although I only ordered pizza. The guys however ordered this:

Oh did I mention that they shared? I'm serious. However, I will say that Hubby didn't touch the meat on a stick, especially after this picture. Will I ever go back? Nah, I doubt I could find it again.

Badman 2007

Yes, this post is several weeks old but at least I'm getting around to it. Badman Ball was April 21st. I remember the date because Hubby left for San Diego the next day. I have to say the event was much better than last year. Although that could be because last year I had the WORST case of strep EVER!! This year I just had a couple of drinks! Can you tell?

Here's the typical couple picture. Hubby was actually quite the attentive husband that night. It was "Can I get you another drink?, Do you want some more food?, Is there anything else I can do for you baby?" He wasn't in trouble or anything. Hmmm, oh wait, maybe it was because he felt bad knowing he'd be leaving me to deal with a screaming toddler for the next few weeks. Oh well, I'll take what I can get.

And now a fun little picture to make everyone wish they were there! (Or glad they weren't)

Don't even ask what we were doing. Just use your imagination, it's more fun that way...

Busy, busy, busy...

So once again I've slacked off on posting. I'm sorry, really I am. I've been busy and I can prove it! Here's a summary of everything that's been going on (in no specific order).

I organized the wives' club's "photoshoot".

Don't laugh, you're lucky I'm sharing this photo.

There was an open base the same day as the pictures for the Cherry Blossom Festival. We went to the static displays of all the planes so Crazy and Hubby could ooohh and aaahhh over them. The cherry blossoms were very pretty though. This one is across from my house.

I've also had to deal with board meetings, OSC meetings, playgroup, and English classes. I'm in the middle of trying to plan a trip to Hawaii as well. If anyone knows of things to do in Hawaii with a small child, please let me know since I'll be on my own during the day. I was just notified a few minutes ago of a possible trip next weekend to Hiroshima. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out. Hubby's HAC board is tomorrow. It's been a little crazy with him spending long days at the squadron. He would do all his studying at the squadron and then come home thinking I want to hang out with him. It's not that I don't want to but I have papers due in my class. I was counting on him studying so I could study too. Two weeks of starting/writing my papers just hours before the deadline finally came to an end. I sat him down for a talk and demanded he bring his work home with him. Now I can spend the evenings concentrating on why we can't rule out Jonbenet Ramsey's mother as having written the ransom note instead of watching Prison Break with Hubby.

The OSC held a bowling night recently. We were divided into teams and each team dressed up. My team ordered bowling shirts from Amazon. Our outfit was completed with rolled up jeans and plenty of cherry accessories.

Thanks Jes for the ribbon we tied in our hair. It looked really cute!

Coming up in the next few weeks is Road Tax week! Fun, the Japanese get even more of our money. Badman Ball is the same week! Hopefully I won't come down with a horrible case of strep throat like last year. Spring break is next week. I turned down an offer of a trip to Guam. I figured it would be packed with families doing the same thing. Me, crowds, and a swimsuit don't mix. Sometime in there I've got to do all the things you're supposed to do before your loved one deploys. Such as get the oil changed in both cars and make sure both are running well. Have Hubby cut the grass so short that he practically kills it so I won't have to mow it for a very, very long time. Have Hubby teach me how to mow the lawn (I know it's pathetic I don't know how). Have Hubby show me how to use his grill (again, pathetic isn't it?). Have Hubby update his power of attorney since it'll expire while he's gone. I need to be able to hold that over him while he's in port to assure him that I can ruin his life if he does anything stupid. Okay, so I don't really do that to him but it does give me a peace of mind knowing that I could if I wanted too.

One thing that's been keeping me busy, and will probably continue to keep me busy at least until the fall, is stupid people (my pet peeve). Seriously, some people need to grow a brain. I'm not even going to get started on this subject.

That's it for now. I'll post again soon, but just in case don't hold your breath!
