Happy Birthday Hiccup!

Look who's 2!!!  It's hard to believe my baby girl is two.  Hiccup is so fun to be around.  Her personality is really starting to come out and I think we're going to have our hands full with the stubborn, vivacious, lovable girl she's becoming.

Confession time:  I guess the third kid really does get forgotten about.  I didn't think about her cupcakes for her birthday until pretty much the day before.  Oops!  We felt terrible since we made the cutest rubber ducky cupcakes for Boo's 2nd birthday.  She didn't seem to mind one bit though.  We'll have to make it up to her on her third birthday.

Graduation Girl

We absolutely love Boo's preschool and one of the things I love the most, besides the awesome teachers, are the special programs.  The one I had been looking forward to all year has finally arrived - Preschool Graduation! There aren't many things cuter than four-year-olds walking around with caps and gowns on while reciting things they learned during the year.  The whole preschool participates in the graduation program by singing songs and then it's time for the Pre-K class to perform.  When it was time for them to walk the stage I had my hands full with Hiccup, my camera and my phone (trying to take a video) that I didn't get a good picture of her receiving her diploma (boo!).  Oh well, there's always next year's Kindergarten graduation.

Wishing Boo good luck before the ceremony

Ready to walk the stage
After the program was over everyone headed outside for field day.  The school set up lots of fun games for the kids to play and the kids were given prizes at each station.  Hiccup and Boo had a great time playing at each station but I think Boo's favorite was the face painting.  It was a little sad for both Boo and I on the way home thinking about how summer break had started (obviously for different reasons).  We both cheered up though when we remembered that she has a two week summer camp with one of her teachers from school coming up.  Yay for summer camp!  It wasn't completely goodbye to her preschool however.  Boo will be attending their new Kindergarten program there in the fall.  I'm excited to see how much progress she'll make in a small class setting.

Color Me Rad

A couple of months ago my neighbors and I had the brilliant idea of signing up to run the Color Me Rad 5k race.  I thought that it would be a fun race to run with Mr. R so I convinced my neighbors to sign their oldest child up as well.  That is how the Chartwell Crew team was born.  Four moms, four kids, matching white t-shirts, and a whole lot of enthusiasm lined up at the starting line that morning.  Four moms, four kids, colorful t-shirts, and color in places that there shouldn't be color crossed the finish line about 45 minutes later.  Mr. R did an awesome job running his first 5k.  He ran the first mile before he took a short walking break.  Then we did a walk/jog combo the rest of the race.  The race course was pretty crowded and narrow in places and muddy in others so you were forced to walk some of the time.  Mr. R enjoyed running through the color stations and I enjoyed using him as a block for the color being thrown at me.  Even with him as my shield I had color everywhere, mostly because they were spraying colored liquid at a few stations.

Siblings welcomed us across the finish line in their matching white shirts which we quickly colored through post-race hugs.  After the race, the kids had fun throwing color bombs at each other and we opened up some packets and shook it out over them.  The race was deemed a fun success!
