So Crazy and I got back from visiting Hubby in Sydney, Australia about a week ago. We had quite an adventure. Actually I'm kind of surprised everything worked out okay. I decided to drive to the airport and use valet parking so to offset the costs I drove two other wives and two additional kids. So in my van I managed to fit 3 adults, 3 children (all in carseats), 2 strollers, 4 suitcases, as well as all of our carry-on bags.
Once we got to the airport one wife had a battle with the ticketing counter because they had cancelled all of her tickets. So we all stayed behind as long as possible to help her and her kids out. She barely made the plane in time which practically gave my friend and I a heartattack. The flight was a typical flight with a small child, stressful. My mom was meeting us in Sydney to be our "nanny" for the trip. What a great mom, huh? She's always wanted to go to Australia so it wasn't too hard to get her to come and watch Crazy. When I got to the airport, however, I couldn't find her anywhere. I was stressing out until I found out her flight was delayed an hour. After meeting up with her we made our way to the hotel which was in The Rocks. Great location!! We dumped our stuff and took off to meet Hubby at the pier. Crazy was so glad to see him. He attached himself to Hubby like glue for the next two days. That was fine with me because "Mommy" was off duty the whole trip.
We toured the Sydney Opera House which was beautiful and went to the Royal Botanical Gardens. They have giant bats (flying foxes to be exact) in the trees that were awesome to watch.
One day we went to the Blue Mountains to see the Three Sisters. We rode the world's steepest railway down into the mountains and took a cableway back up to the top. It was fantastically cold there, a nice change from the weather here in Japan. On the way home we stopped at a wildlife park and had the chance to pet koalas, kangaroos, and wallabies. Crazy loved feeding them and got a kick out of chasing them around.

Our last day there Hubby took me to Target. That's right, Target. According to their website they are not affliated with the U.S. Target. I could tell when we got there. Not Target prices, much to Hubby's dismay, and more European clothing. I bought a ton. Most of it was on sale and it was winter clothing so I was thinking ahead. It was a good thing I packed an empty duffel bag because I barely fit everything in my bags to come home.
After a crack of dawn goodbye to Australia we boarded our flight and suffered through an extremely long daytime flight (for those of you without kids that means your child is wake the whole time, fun!). The good thing was that by the time we got back in the van Crazy was out like a light. He slept the whole way home even with a baby crying next to him and a toddler whining behind him. Out of all the wives who made the trip (a lot) we made it back the quickest (thanks to the Aqualine) and were the only ones who didn't get lost. It was nice to sleep in my own bed again, I just wish my husband had come home with me.
