Yesterday we drove to the Air Force base to have dinner with a friend of ours from college. He was in the same outfit and class year as Hubby so they have a lot of memories from the Corp at A&M. He has been stationed in Japan for over a year now but his deployment schedule has been the opposite as Hubby's so it's been hard to get together. I haven't seen him since our wedding and now he's married with a 14 month old daughter.
We made the two hour drive without a problem. Crazy slept most of the way (thank goodness!) and Sweetpea cried for the first 20 minutes before falling asleep. We hit up their exchange to do some shopping and then headed over to our friend's house. The kids played at the playground next to their house while everyone was introduced and we had the chance to catch up with one another. When we headed into the house so they could start grilling Crazy took the opportunity to pull out every toy the little girl owned. She was a little bewildered by the fact that it looked like a tornado blew through her room and the living room. Thankfully he likes to help clean up so it wasn't a problem. Dinner was nice and relaxing, even with Crazy only eating tator tots. It's been a long time since we've been able to sit down and eat a meal with another couple. I felt very grownup!! Haha! The only thing now is that the guys want to get together more but we're leaving in two months or so. It would be great if it works out but I foresee it adding to my stress level, after all they live two hours from us.
On a different note, I've added a new post about the tea festival I went to a few months ago. Better late than never, right?
