Friday morning started with this:
And ended with this:
Poor Hiccup woke up with a fever during the night and was very tired and cranky in the morning. She insisted on bringing down all of her things and laying on the couch. She never lays on the couch, ever. That is when you truly know she feels awful. Thankfully Motrin kept the fever down and by the evening she was feeling much better. Friday afternoon we received quite a bit of snow and the kids were dying to play outside. I let them go outside for a little bit before dinner with the promise of more play time Saturday morning.
Saturday morning rolled around and the snow was still there. The kids were so excited that I barely got breakfast in them before they bundled up to head outside.

All the neighborhood boys were outside as well and the kids had a blast running around and playing with everyone. The kids had fun throwing snowballs at each other and they finally decided to try their hands at making a snowman.

After watching the kids' sad attempts at a snowman, our neighbor, Mrs. A, took things into her own hands. She "helped" the kids build a snowman in the corner of my yard. I believe my other neighbor, Mrs. R, and I heard quite a few threats to the kids to not mess with the snowman. When she left to get some accessories for the little guy, we received some threats of our own.

The kids loved the snowman Mrs. A made and it lasted quite awhile. Honestly I think it was because of the threats the kids received. Boo commented to me two days later that the snowman was starting to melt and lean. She hoped that Mrs. A didn't think we did that to the snowman. Hahaha! I assured her that we wouldn't get in trouble for the snowman naturally melting.
After we were all nice and frozen, we headed inside and the kids took a nice hot jacuzzi bath to warm up. Then, thanks to the morning's activity, nap time was a breeze! Snow days aren't so bad after all.
