The two took turns following each other around the house and playing. It was fantastic! I just sat on the couch all weekend and watched tv. I don't remember the last time I actually watched tv. Maybe we should get a dog just to keep Crazy entertained.... Nah, I'm not that desperate. The big highlight of Kenji's visit was his kennel. Crazy discovered it had a door which he could repeatedly open and (slam) close. Then he realized he could actually crawl inside! Dog kennels make great playhouses. I watched Crazy try to put his ride-on airplane inside. Obviously it wasn't going to fit but that didn't deter him from trying. Kenji just stood there watching Crazy playing inside his kennel like he was crazy. (As a sidenote, Kenji does not sleep in the kennel when he stays with us. I have found that Kenji's displeasure at sleeping in the kennel leads to high pitched barking which tends to wake up Crazy. So Kenji sleeps on the bed with me and the cats.)Later that night when Crazy was finally in bed I was picking up the living room and discovered this:
Shannon came by to pick up Kenji while Crazy was napping. Poor guy was really confused when he woke up and found that his playhouse and giant cat were missing. I guess he'll have something to look forward to next time his sleepover pal comes over.

That is so cute! I had that fascination too as a child...my aunt had a dog named Goliath (a small dog) and I locked myself in his kennel when I was little because it was a fun place to hide. It took awhile for anyone to find me!!!
I'm glad Ryan has a new friend - and I bet Kenji loved it too!
