In an attempt to let Boo meet some other girls and have something to do, we signed her up for dance lessons. She's taking a tap/ballet class once a week and is very excited about it. The one little snap we ran into is that she refuses to wear anything "girly." Ummm, it's dance. You're required to wear a leotard. Newsflash - certain 3 year olds don't care! She didn't want a pink leotard, or a purple one, or any leotard that had a built in tutu for that matter. That pretty much excluded all the leotards that the dance shop carried. She wanted a green leotard, with no tutu of course. Do you have idea how hard it is to find said leotard in her size without spending a small fortune? Well needless to say she didn't get one. Boo is learning the art of compromise when it comes to her dance attire. We managed to find a suitable outfit at Target that she
was bribed agreed to wear.

Boo ready for dance

Notice that it's not your typical dance leotard. She loved the built-in shorts and the fact that the majority of it was black, her second favorite color. She was the ONLY girl that wasn't wearing all pink and a tutu. Boo didn't mind in the least. When asked if she'd like a leotard like her friends she simply declined. Well at least we know that peer pressure is not an issue yet.
I wish I could watch her classes but parents are not allowed to and they don't have a one way mirror. I guess the main thing is that she's having fun. Whether or not she's actually learning dance is secondary. There is a big dance recital at the end of the year (June) that will be held at the local opera house. Can't wait to see that!
