Georgia On My Mind

Last month we took a quick weekend trip to Helen, GA.  Several people at work had recommended the Alpine village just north of Atlanta and when I found out it was close to the Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland General Hospital we just had to go.  We stayed at the Unicoi State Park in one of their lodge rooms.  The kids loved it because there was a loft that they could sleep/play in.  We wouldn't let them sleep up there but they had endless fun throwing things off the top and climbing down to get it again.  We toured the Cabbage Patch Hospital and picked up a set of surprise newborn twins.  Turns out they were both boys ( I wonder if that's telling us something...).  Then we took the kids panning for gemstones.  Now we have two bags of rocks, I mean gemstones, that I have no idea what to do with.  The rest of the time was spent shopping in the downtown Helen shops.  I picked up an awesome beer stein for Hubby for Father's Day (he already knows about it because Crazy promptly informed him that I was buying something for him but he couldn't tell him what it was).  The beer stein is a limited edition history of helicopter stein made in Germany.  Once Hubby actually receives it on Father's Day I'll post a picture.  The trip was a lot of fun and it was nice to get away for a few days.  Who knows when we'll get to do that again!  Here's some pictures of our trip:
