Boo's second Halloween party at school was cancelled due to bad weather. Instead the kids had a harvest party the week after. I went in to help with the craft and to read the class a story. The kids made pumpkin jars (or candleholder, vase, pencil holder, or whatever else they want to use them for) by covering baby food jars with Mod Podge and tissue paper. Faces cut out of black construction paper completed the project.
I read a Thanksgiving story before lunch and after the kids ate they decorated a cookie for dessert. Each child got to take home a sucker and a roll of stickers courtesy of another mom. Those kids were pretty hopped up on sugar by the time school was over.
Boo was quite happy to take home half of her cookie (she let me eat it on the drive home, her decision, honest!) and thrilled with her Rapunzel stickers and Toostie Roll Pop. Hiccup, who spent most of the time strapped to my back, was just as thrilled with the party because one of the kids left their sucker unguarded on the table and she quickly claimed it. Don't worry, we had extra suckers to replace the one she stole. Several of Boo's friends also asked if they could share their stickers with Hiccup, so she went home with several stuck on her hand. It's always fun to go up to Boo's school and see what's going on. I'm not sure how they do it, but her teachers keep them happy and busy.
