Trimming the Tree

For us Thanksgiving weekend is all about one thing.  Trimming the Christmas tree!  We have a lovely artificial tree that the cats won't eat and can be easily put back together if the kids or cats knock off a branch.  The kids were such big helpers this year.  They helped put the tree together and hung all the ornaments except for my Gone With the Wind ornament series.  No one's allowed to hang those except me, not even Hubby.  You have to truly appreciate the book to be able to hang them correctly.  Trust me on this.

The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the ornaments from the different places we've lived and travelled as well as their baby ornaments.  Boo got the honor of putting the star on top of the tree.  Once we were done we all stepped back and admired our handiwork.  That's when Mr. R said, "Wow, we put the tree up all on our own without Daddy's help!"  Excuse me?  How helpless does he think I am?  I believe I'm more than capable of putting up a fake tree by myself.  You'd think that Hubby goes out and chops down our Christmas tree each year with his bare hands to hear Mr. R talk.  Then Mr. R turns to me and says, "I bet you can't wait until Daddy comes homes so you can take a nap."  You got that right.  I could definitely go for a nap!
