Breakfast with Santa

Mr. R's school hosted a breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning.  The kids really wanted to go, so I purchased tickets and we headed over to the school cafeteria.  Because we prepaid for the tickets it was only $4 apiece, Hiccup was free, so that wasn't too bad for a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and juice.  There were also activities for the kids to do, as well as the whole reason for the breakfast, Santa!

We got there right when the breakfast began.  I think we all know how I hate to be late to things and I don't like crowds either.  It worked out great!  As soon as we walked in the door the kids were able to sit on Santa's lap.  Hiccup decided to watch from the stroller.  She kept her eye on Santa the whole time we were there.

Making reindeer faces
A craft table was set up for the kids to make reindeer faces out of popsicle sticks.  The kids had the chance to fill a bag with their choice of red or green reindeer food at another station.  On another table was a "Letters to Santa" station.   The kids were able to drop their letters in a box next to Santa for him to take back to the North Pole.

After breakfast we had the opportunity to view the items for sale at the school's Elf Shelf.  Mr. R will have the chance to shop for gifts later this week.  He picked out gifts for everyone and totaled up the prices so that I would make sure I sent in enough money.  He even patiently waited for Boo to pick out the gift she wanted him to buy her.

On the way home we listened to Christmas music and the kids talked about what they asked Santa for.  Let's just hope that there aren't any last minute changes to those lists.  I don't think Santa is going to be up for a last minute run to the store!

Kimberly, we received your Christmas card and family update yesterday. The kids look happy and are really growing like weeds. Congrats to Scott on his promotion. Glad everyone is doing well. Enjoy your Christmas vacation and thanks to Scott and you for keeping us safe.
